12 track debut release from the 23-year-old Producer/Rapper from Queens, NY.

For the first time since Tunnel Rap, Queens births an original sound that doesn’t park between the zzzzz formulas of sample-laden vinyl-lifted drums and 64 bar inanities that the 42 year old Lo-heads proclaim define New York. The arrangements are complex and raw same damn time – IDRC is a piano, a kick, and a snare and still, it’s an orchestra. What stands out is the production - built on neo-soul and gospel chords, transmitted through the shittiest Casio keys, it gives as much context as the lyrics. Like its synths, DEBUT tells the story of having nothing and compressing as much heart and life as you can into that nothing till a song blooms. It’s the actual story of young NYC… where does the young minority fit in a city that is trying to real-estate you out?

Now, NY has its own BIG K.R.I.T., but no place to put him. “I can’t wait for these old ass rappers to die, fam. I just dropped the blueprint for these young ones, how to make jams, I thought up my own genre and it sounds like NY and you never heard it before, I am NY now fam. Fuck these old Santa Claus rappers. Fuck Sean Price fam. That’s my favorite rapper in the world but fuck Sean Price. I want to hear what happens once the blueprint is out.” Damn, I never heard someone so excited about making beats.
